Blair's Brussels prize

TONY Blair could be crowned President of Europe within WEEKS.

EU chiefs are secretly planning to install a powerful new president on October 29 — if Ireland votes “yes” to the Treaty this week. Ireland has previously rejected the Treaty, but are now expected to back it — paving the way for the powerful new Brussels’ post. And Blair is favourite to take it up.

Thinktank Open Europe blasted the move yesterday. Chief Lorraine Mullally said: “Brits didn’t get a say on the Treaty and we won’t get a say on who becomes President.”
