THE Royals have not been hit as hard as most relegated sides this summer.
The loss of striker Dave Kitson is a blow but the stalwarts of their promotion campaign three years ago — Kevin Doyle (right), Marcus Hahnemann and Graeme Murty — all remain at the club.
Reading were prudent enough to ensure that they would not fall apart if relegated and this should become apparent as they return to the Premier League - although the expected loss of Nicky Shorey will be a blow.
