Welcome to the X-Factor

They start out X-tremely unrehearsed. X-cruciatingly embarrassing and X-cessively bitchy.
Over the next few weeks they will be transformed before the eyes of millions into performers worthy of a prime-time TV slot.
But that's enough about Simon Cowell and his panel of judges!
Welcome to our X-Factor blog where we will celebrate the budding stars and stunning bores unearthed by ITV's annual talent trawl.

Over the past few months, 150,000 of the UK's most deluded and tone-deaf wannabe Atomic Kittens have queued outside provincial leisure centres to have Simon shatter their dreams of stardom with a cutting put-down just 20 seconds into their cat-in-a-microwave rendition of Show Me Heaven.
All we have to do is tune in every Saturday night - trigger finger on the mute button - and mock them. Bliss.
As well as our resident reality addict Peter Briffa, we've lined up a host of previous winners and losers to chip in with their thoughts and opinions as the show progresses.
And of course, every week the News of the World will have all the hottest exclusives, the behind-the-scenes catfights and we'll unearth the real truth about the wannabes.
But most importantly, this is a chance for all of our readers to get your thoughts off your chest and let us know what you think.

Start now. Who was the best/worst contestant ever? Did you audition? Could you do better? Do YOU know what the hell happened to last year's winner Leona?!
We'll update this page every time something interesting happens - so make sure you keep coming back to make sure you never miss your hit of X-Factor xcitement.
And we'll have BUCKETS of pictures of Dannii Minogue.

A great start to great series, it's good to have Louis back. I really enjoyed the best and worst shows on ITV2 and would love to see a where are they now type pogamme about all the previous finalists from all of the X factor series.

Dear News Of The world. My name is Joy Philippou.I appeared on the X.Factor show last night.I found it extremely disappointing to see how much of it was axed.I sang Edith Piaff, did some Spiritual Rap,which is always a wow withthe younger generation when I do it on stage,I played the invisible violin, mandolin and Hawaiian guitar.None of this was shown and the bits that were shown were so short and did not do them justice.I'm sure many people wondered why on earth I got the "yes" vote and was put forward to go to "Boot Camp"!Anyway,it was a great privilege to appear at all.I hope this will open up many more venues for me to go on raising thousands of pounds for Save the Children Fund and other Charities as I have done in the past, the latest appearance on stage being in April this year, raising funds for "The Band of Hope" (Patron:Lord Tarsem King of West Bromwich} for starving and homeless children in Nigeria. At my ageof 79,who could ask for more? !!!Thank you for giving me a mention.Love,Peace and light to you all JOY PHILIPPOU

I enjoyed the show and was glad they got rid of that American bloke, who I thought had a bad attitude and felt he looked down on us Brits.

NikiR will walk it,another Paul Potts, the show should be called Sing it Again.
Why people enter after the so called phone scandle is beyond me.
It is a rip off,yes they can sing, but is it a platform for new talant or rehab as beens?
Granted they are good, but tell the truth about past history of the singers.
Not bother watching until the final to see NikiR win.

Many of the so called contestents should not have been put through just so the panel could have a good laugh at their expense..I lost my special needs son 3 years ago at the age of 18, he liked to perform and loved music. He could't read or write, but he made people laugh with him, not at him. Its about time the real simon cowell and sharon osbourne stood up. Their own lives if their autobiographies are true mirror tragedies and disappointments, and any sincerity they may genuinely possess has got lost in the seemingly endless need to produce yet more staged situations which even the least discerning of us now know to be absolute rubbish. The panel are always telling contestents to be themselves. Perhaps they should take their own advice.

W4 does not stand for Women 4!!! So get your facts straight whoever thinks they need a calculator!
All 5 girls met in Chiswick and formed the band there, and W4 is the Chiswick postcode!

Nicky Evans has appeared on a TV talent show only a couple of years ago. The ex manager of Take That said she should concentrate on her two sons. She sang the same song in that show I believe, so she should know it back to front. Is it time to let new people have a go instead of the habitual talent contest entrants?

I am so glad Louis Walsh is back on the Simon Cowell show, now bring back Kate Thorton
Posted by: Aileen Banks | August 19, 2007 at 09:40 PM
Kate Thornton was crap. I'm so pleased Dermot is on the show. It's going to be great this season!

Ial should get their memory or ears tested. The programne was several years ago.It was Jane Macdonald's 'Star for the Night' and what the ex-manager of Take That in fact said was that she had the potential to become an International star. She was head and shoulders better than the other finalists and, had it not been for the usual shortcomings of the public vote, should have won by several country miles.

Danni Minogue is a breath of fresh air, honest and extremely beautiful and talented. You couldn't have picked better Simon!
Posted by: Ian | August 24, 2007 at 02:43 AM
sharon osbourne is vile and unprofessional. if she doesn't like a contestant that's the end off the road for them. she comes across as a bully. I love simon and louis, but can't watch the xfactor because of sharon get her off please she is dated and a very poor example of a judge.
Posted by: jacquelinesapphira | August 26, 2007 at 03:30 AM
i cant belive Danni Minge oge is such a ***** to Sharon ,
she dont know what shes saying about music...
just read she fancies a female stripper and groaped her
GROW UP DANNI YOUR A NOTHING
YOUR UGLY AND HAVE A DEEPER VOICE THAN SIMON AND LOU LOU
YOUR NEVER MAKE IT
GIVE UP NOW
Posted by: mitcell | August 26, 2007 at 09:05 AM
After watching only two episodes of this series of X Factor I cant help but notice Danni Minogue saying no to quite obvious talent especially young females.
Is the old birds feathers being ruffled by the fresh new talent before her and using her undeserved position on the judges panel to keep them down and out .
Sureley the other judges must have noticed this . Is she giving her honest opinion to these talented contestants or are they a threat?
Is there a trace of the ugly green eyed monster lurking behind those perfectly plucked eyebrows? I cannot think of 1 song off the top of my head that i can link succesfully to Danni .
Who is she ? What is she all about? She is not bad looking girl she probabley would have made a great model or something . but a singer ?
No way she proved this all by herself. so why oh why out of the many many worthyier musical proffesionals across the globe did someone see fit to place her amongst true music pros and allow her to cast all important votes against the acts of young wannabees who are not as fortunate as Danni to have such a well loved ,respected and not to forget talented and successful older sister to fall back on when axe falls .
DANNI STOP BEING CRUEL AND JELOUS LETS NIP THIS IN THE BUD BEFORE IT GETS REAL UGLY .
YOU HAVE A GREAT OPORTUNITY HERE TO CHANGE PEOPLES PERSPECTIVE OF YOU AND TO MAYBE BECOME A HOUSEHOLD NAME WORTHY OF YOUR CAUSE LIKE SIMON SHARON AND LOUIS.....

I would have loved for the auditions to be done in front of a live audience as they did Britains Got Talent, that would have been some show! Still love it though, people have commented that the judges are cruel but no one forces these people with no talent to appear so they must take the critiscm we all know what the x factor is about.
Posted by: wendy gilronan | August 26, 2007 at 02:09 PM
after watching the first two shows its rediculous what sort of 'talent' has been put through to bootcamp! i am fourteen and wos close to auditioning but thought i stood no chance against the competition but now i regret not flling a form in and entering the compitition! i dont think theres any person to fear and if it carries on this way its going to be obvious who the finalists are. And i cant stand dannii.. Who the hell does she think she is?!? i would really love to see a new boyband come out. we need someone fresh and funky
Posted by: Amy | August 26, 2007 at 04:24 PM
hi
i would like to see more young people on the show they are a it more active and will amaze me more
so far i love under 25 girls!!!!
from morgie
Posted by: morgie-x | August 26, 2007 at 05:49 PM
next year you should in boot camp make up thier own song and proform it to thier judge and then if they win they should have to sing that at the end as well!!!!
hope you take my comment seriously from morgie-x
Posted by: morgie-x | August 26, 2007 at 05:53 PM
i think their should be an xfactor chat box and you can say what evr you want about one of the judges (so you call in and you can say something to one of the judges!)
Posted by: morgie-x | August 26, 2007 at 05:57 PM
and what would you like to say to the one of the judges morgie ? which one and why :-) curious ??

I was in a bad mood watching the program last Saturday 25-8-07 when a man named Icaro? broke in from nowhere and spreaded the love all over the program! Even Simon got a kiss from the Joker that actualy has a very powerful voice.
I would love to see someone that works stacking boxes at a local supermarket win this competition! TV is about entertainment and the crazy man just made my day!

hi, i attended an x factor audition with my neice, who is 21yrs old and like everybody else who auditions she thinks she is good (and so do i)but, while waiting on her to have her audition i was disgusted at the things that went on,
you had people most young who had good talent and they were sent home but people with no obvious talent and some oap's were allowed through, it is supposed to be the x factor not the funny factor,
who gives her the right, my neice went to see the judge to be told that she definately has something there and to come back the next day, on attending the next day she was told that she was good but not this time,
How can some people play with other peoples lives like this, they need to pick out the TALENT and not the
Comedians who think that they have talent.
This is supposed to allow the public to try to gain exposure and to better themselves it is not about simon etc making more money and playing with peoples lives.
I had watched a lot of goings on while there and i would certainly not go through that expereince again and neither would i allow any of my family to degrade themselves again for the sake of the funny factor.

i've always loved watching xfactor, last weeks episode didnt really impress me, but i loved this weeks. i found that girl from cardiff, the one with the major ego and no talent, absolutly hillarious to watch.
And i've already found the person i shall be backing thoughout the competition, early days i know but i did it with shayne ward right from his auidition and look where he ended up :)!
so now i'ma be supporting Ryan Idzi the army guy, he has such an amazing voice and looks gorgeous...so gd luck to him!!

I love the x factor i never missed a programme of the x factor. I think dannii shoudnt be on the x factor she doesnt no how to judge. Dannii should stick to her day job and she hasnt got a glue want she doing on the x factor. Dannii should be replace by someone new. Get dannii of the show. Dannii stop being cruel and stop being jealous of sharon she way better than you on the show. I think that kylie should be replace dannii on the show kylie would be way better than dannii.
DANNII SHOULDNT DO THE X FACTOR NEXT YEAR.
Posted by: jenny | August 29, 2007 at 12:02 AM
X Factor is brilliant. Why not make more episodes of the show and show all the auditions. Really miss Kate Thornton, not the same without her.
Posted by: Jan Pruett | September 02, 2007 at 12:59 AM
I think they have Dermot because of his ability to do as he is told when it comes to staged events and how convincing he makes it all seem. Dermot did a good job on BBLB with his scripts and his mastery of the rhetorical question.
As for Sharons brothers expose, who's being the "b***h"? I believe Sharon is just speaking her mind and the only thing she lacks is tact, the X factor wouldn't be the same without her.
Posted by: Kathleen | September 02, 2007 at 12:08 PM
For you to even suggest that Danii is better then Sharon and call Sharon a TV Bitch is totally disrespectful. Sharon is the first lady of everything and Danii is merely a wanna be
Posted by: Shazfan | September 02, 2007 at 02:37 PM
xfactor is absolutly fab again this time. sharon and simon are brill. good times. glad louis is back it wouldn;t be the same if anyone of the 3 left im glued to the tv sat night tv is finally back.
Posted by: fudgecake | September 02, 2007 at 04:39 PM
I just read your story about Sharon and her brother, slating her down to the bone.
WHY ON EARTH WOULD SHARON BE JEALOUS OF DANNII?
Dannii is a pretty woman, yeah.. but she has no success at ALL.
Sharon has been successful during her whole career.. she's created some of the most memorable moments in X Factor history.
She has a unique personality and speaks her mind.. Dannii simply says no to any female she sees as a threat.
GET DANNII OFFFF NOWWWWW!
She really annoys me and everyone else!
Sharon is the best! An inspiration to young girls to speak their minds, while still not dressing like a slapper and going to female strippers!
WOO GO SHARON! YOU COMPLETELY ROCK THIS YEAR! I HOPE YOU WIN AND PICK YP VICTORY!
SHARONNN ALLL THE WAYYYYYY!
Posted by: Jess | September 02, 2007 at 05:06 PM
Sharon's brother should be ashamed of himself. All he has done is make himself look like a jealous horrid little man. How could he say those things about his sister? Sharon must feel very hurt and betrayed. That article should never have been printed.
I think David is forgetting that Sharon has MILLIONS of fans who love her. You won't last long in showbiz if you have a fake personality, and Sharon has never claimed to be a saint. We all know she isn't one, but we also know that she is a lovely, caring and kind person who doesn't deserve all the lies that are being printed about her.
There is no feud between her and Dannii, people are just desperate to make Sharon out to be jealous of her and create some drama when there is none. Simon has said there is no feud, Dannii has said there is no feud and that Sharon was the most welcoming to her of ALL the judges, Sharon has said numerous times that Dannii is a lovely and gorgeous lady...does that sound like someone who is jealous and feuding? If there was a feud between them, Sharon would let it be known that's for sure!
And Sharon does NOT "Loathe" Simon Cowell. David is simply bringing his name into it to get Sharon in trouble, he's trying to get her fired. I sincerely hope that Simon realises how important Sharon is to The X Factor. She can not be replaced.
And just a little note about Dannii...i don't think a fourth judge on the panel was a good idea at all. I've nothing against Dannii personally, but four judges is just too much on this show. All we needed was Simon, Sharon and Louis...give us back the old panel and bring back Kate Thornton!!!!

just thought id say a lot of our QDG wives are supporting one of our own RYAN IDZI and we hope he goes far, although a lot of us are also annoyed at the fact he used the 2 of our mates getting killed in Iraq last year as his sob story its still quite fresh in our minds and we were gutted that he brought it up during his audition, but anyway other than that come on IDZI

kelly northall who appeared on last nites show the judges didnt give her a chance i know cause i know kelly and for a start they didnt show all the tape on the nite and that wasnt the only song she sang loui wanted to give her a chance but they wont show tha will they

I took my 15 year old daughter to audition in london, after standing in the queue cheering and waving for the cameras for almost 7 hours we were allowed into the stadium, my daughter made it to the second audition where she was told to come back the following day to audition again in front of the show producers, needless to say we were all very proud and excited, we arrived back at 9am the next morning. Gemma (my daughter) sang eva cassidy song bird in front of 3 judges and was told "you sang exeptionally well but its a no for today". I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHY SOMEONE WHO IS TOLD THEY SANG THAT WELL IS TOLD NO? Gemma has co written and recorded 2 of her own songs and recorded Eva Casssidy's song bird she is a very talented beautiful young girl who feels she wasnt given the chance to show the judges especially simon just how talented she is. we have seen 2 other girls that sang song bird on the show that the judges raved about especially sharon and friends have commented that Gemma sings 100 times better (no disrespect intended to the girls) and no sour grapes, but we have watched some rubbish on the show and the people with real talent turned away without a chance, all my daughter wanted was for simon, sharon etc to hear her sing and maybe give her the oppurtunity to do what she has worked so hard for. we would of loved simon to have heard her sing but the untalented took preference over her it seems! Gemma has also sang with Jane Macdonald on the royal variety performance in 200 and with Micheal Crawford on tv promoting his Disney cd DOES THAT SOUND LIKE SOMEONE WITHOUT TALENT!!!!!! BY THE WAY WE THINK SIMON IS GREAT HE TELLS IT AS IT WELL DONE TO HIM!

Sharon Osbourne is the most incredible woman in this world. She is always open, she tells it as it is. She is a massive reason that X factor is so popular as I know hundreds of people who would turn there tv on if she wasnt on the show. Sharon is truely a beautiful woman and I wish her every happiness in the world

I think the x factor is a great show, just the expressions of the judges makes me laugh thats why i've done my own parody about it. It can be seen on youtube here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X54R9wa5DnM

THIS SERIES OF X FACTOR IS GREAT AND SO FUNNY, IT IS BRILLIANT TO HAVE LOUIS BACK. THE ONLY BAD THING IS HAVING DANNI MINOGUE ON THE JUDGING PANEL, SHE IS JUST AWFUL AND SO BORING, SHE ISN'T CARING AND COMPASSIONATE. SHARON IS. INSTEAD OF SHARON LEAVING, IT SHOULD BE DANNI, SHE IS SO BORING, STAY SHARON, GO DANNI, YOU ARE AWFUL. GET RID OF DANNI PLEASE

They have put allot of bad people through this year a lot of cocky people through as well and i hate cocky people get them all of
and give sharon a good catogery for once no wonder she never wins as much as i want her to i can not vote for any of her people
even if their all right i have to vote for someone better and she normally has just allright people give her a good groupto mentor for a change like the young people they are the best catogory and she is good with them like the boys or girls woulod do good

That person Ian is so wrog sharron is caring and loyal to everery one that sings
SIMON IS A ******* BUT HE DOES TELL THE TRUTH BUT A LITTLE KID LIKE U IAN PROBLY COULD NOT SING ANY WAY SO U WOULD THINK THE BAD SINGERS WOULD BE GOOD AND THE GOOD SINGERS BAD
MAYBE YOUR TAKING LESSONS FROM SIMON

Unfortunately the show is beginning to smack more and more of not the best singers being chosen but the ones that are the most watchable and have the best story.
Btw, is Sharon wearing a wig cos she has HUGE hair?
Posted by: James Becker | September 30, 2007 at 02:51 PM
i thought that all the contestants were boring boring boring there is no one who i woudl vote for at all but i did enjoy simons comments they are hilarious, and the only reason worth watching

I've always loved the X-Factor but I think it's even better now they've changed it a bit. They needed to as it was becoming stagnent so I'm glad of 4 judges and Dannii is the perfect one. She has has a lot of success in her own right, she the only one who's had so many No.1's on the dance/club charts she gets my vote any vote anyday!! Go on DISCO dan x

The Fix Factor hides talent from the public
Simon Cowell says “This is the biggest SINGING competition in the UK” The show is infact a farce, singing talent is not recognized. The producers want the outlandish, ridiculous and farcical. They want people to be laughed at, comic value is more important than singing talent.
The fact they end up with some good talent is not because of the show it is inspite of the show. It’s impossible to have 150,000 people and not even by accident end up with some talented people in the end show. I saw apart from me at least 40 other people who in my opinion were good enough to be in the live show. To hear the judges say with this years over 25’s they were scraping the barrel was infuriating after seeing the best thrown away.
Why they even have people entering who are over 45, is beyond me. They say they want mature people to enter, what they actually mean is if you still look 35 you’re through!
I got through to bootcamp. I had already been heavily filmed at the Lowry audition before and after i saw Simon Cowell and the other judges. The reality of this so called “reality show” is that you are told what to say, how to say it and when to say it.
On my first audition Simon said he liked me and thought I was a big emotional guy. I assumed when I got to bootcamp there would be singing tutors and so on who would work with you to help you prepare you for the bootcamp audition. When in actual fact there was nothing, just standing around for hours at a time, missed meals, endless videoing and interviews that were never to be seen and boredom.
At bootcamp alone I was filmed and interviewed at least 4 times. Brian Freidman was listening to other people and asked to listen to me. I sang and he said” Wow, I didn’t expect that!” Later he came back with the film crew, took me outside and where they videoed me again and he said “I think you’ll do really well in this show.”
The fact I didn’t get through isn’t the issue, it’s the fact that I was filmed eleven times, did four auditions, three of the auditions were filmed including the bootcamp one, yet the only clip they showed of me was with no sound and then they said they were scraping the bottom of the barrel.
All I wanted to do was let people hear me sing if I didn’t make it then fine or I didn’t get shown then I’d have been disappointed but even that I would have handled but to be shown without sound and inferred I was from the bottom of the barrel was an insult not just to me, but to all who entered if possible I would like the public to hear me and make up there own mind.
So I have included my myspace website, it has 4 songs on it they are totally diy recordings I just plugged my music and my mic into my amp plugged my amp into my mini disc and pressed record one of the songs she believes in me was recorded the same way but live at a club so you can hear the audience a bit loudly sorry have a listen and see what you think I would welcome any comments you have
thanks

If Chris Moyles is really in line to replace any judge who leaves. Then kick the self centered, annoying Mrs Osbourne right out! The world would be a better place without her anyway. And X-factor with Chris Moyles, theres just one word! WOW!
Posted by: Jonathan-Rhys Lewis | October 21, 2007 at 09:30 AM
I Watched the first show last night and thought it was very poor. The so called made up group Hope were terrible and to be honest a lot of the acts were bad. Hopefully it will get better. As for the pubilicity stunt of Sharons departure what a complete stage managered piece of Crap. Does she honestly think we are so stupid. Dermott explained the rules to the judges and everyone lisening if it was 2 votes each it would go down to who actually received the least amount of votes from the public so she could of voted accordingly and the public would of kicked out the one with the least votes. So instead of being 'to upset to decide' she let her people down with this stage managed pantomine. i hope Simon sacks her and bring in chris moyles or whowever, she has let her people down badley. As for tommys comments above there was a certain group from the north East that never got a look in either got through to the final 12 in the groups then was not even seen after that. get rid of Sharon the old Hag she is absolute rubbish and just a money grabbing attention seeking witch.

I was one of the 500 fans with a ticket who did not get in to watch the show last night. We were told to get there early and arrived at 2.00pm. The doors were supposed to open at 4.30pm, there was about 150 people in front of me and by the time we left there were about 300 behind me. They did not start letting people in until about 5.15pm and we were then counted and told the people in front would be going in and they were keeping 200 of us on standby. I was right at the front of the standby queue but it soon became clear we would not get in, then instead of offering spare seats to the people at the front, the girl in charge of the queue screamed " I need one person" then everyone started pushing in and chaos broke out, then again she screamed out "I've got 12 tickets for the Xtra factor show" and again people from behind ran and pushed to the front. The girl was extremely rude, and although the majority of people accepted the seats were not guarenteed,we all felt we treated very badly and that if the doors had opened on time, things would have been more organised and we may have got in. I would never go again and would advise anyone who is going to get there at least 3 1/2 hrs before the doors open!!!

what a load of crap, the only talent on the show is, dare i say it Rhideaon or however its spelt. he is an annoying, egotystical twerp but he has talent, and you cannot deny it. WHAT did they do with his hair i thought it was david bowie, about to perform space odyssey, just leave him as he is, there is no need to ridicule and humiliate someone because they have talent. Leon should have gone what a noise that was. louis should not allow his gripes with simon to get in the way of contestants talents. get rid of osbourne she is a nasty minded foul mouthed witch she needs to look at her own kids before she goes knocking someone eleses kids. as for Nicky stop the sympathy lobbying now we have heard it all now, you can sing but if i hear about your dad once more i think im going to smash the TV. i lost my dad 2 yrs ago and miss him like mad but did not use it in my election campaign this year when standing for councillor shut up!!!. personally i think they have picked a duff bunch this year they got rid of a lot of talented people. I liked the carpenter he had a unique voice a sound all of his own, and he looked good, or do i need to go specsavers?. its all downhill this year. as for Chris Moyles replacing the witch well not sure about that Jonathon Ross would have been a better choice and more entertaining.

Watching the x-factor last evening through out the show I began to think that Sharon Osbourne was drunk!!Her awful comments and then taking off her shoes on stage, and her going home comments were so unproffesional.Glad she has gone.Best voice Nicky.Give Rhiadian a chance also the jazz singer I think he could be good with the right teaching.
Posted by: Jenny | October 21, 2007 at 02:41 PM
I thought "The X Factor" was about the contestants and not the judges. Isn't it about time the judges worked together like in the American series, in finding a singer who CAN stand the test of time and not bicker amongst themselves. It should be up to the viewing public who stays and who goes at the end of the day it is the public who make these people into stars. The judges need to get their act together!!!!

Thought the show was OK. Highlight was Nikki-really good. Thought Sharon was very rude to Rhydian, not necessary and not good entertainment. Unfortunately she chose the wrong songs and hence her acts were in the bottom two, Not good family entertainment
Posted by: Jane | October 21, 2007 at 03:40 PM
well same old thing again i am singing for my mum & dad then comes the tears just to get them a vote to stay in, people are not voting for the songs but voteing for who cries the most and if simon is hard on them you know people will vote them back in ?
Posted by: Bryan | October 21, 2007 at 04:10 PM
The show was so poor it's unbeliable, the acts were terrible at the beginning. Niki And Rhydian and Hope and maybe Alisha saved the show, If she carries on she'll go! Sharon is a spiteful Bitch for being nasty to Rhydian i think the reason it was poor was because Of That BRIAN FRIEDMAN!:
Posted by: Tiegan | October 21, 2007 at 05:21 PM
Well what happened to the live show last night? Awful, sack the stylist, give them upto date songs and bring back Ben Shepard get rid of that awful fearne please!
Posted by: aimee | October 21, 2007 at 06:25 PM
I think Sharon seemed kind of "odd" all night - the way she was talking and behaving with the contestants was a little unlike her - what happened - then she took her shoes off on stage , then she had her outburst!
Posted by: jenny | October 21, 2007 at 08:38 PM
p.s Danny please eat!!! you are so thin!!
Posted by: jenny | October 21, 2007 at 08:39 PM
I wish they would get Kate back. She was fantastic and good at handling live (particular emotional) situations. Watched last night's show and was cringing with how Dermot was presenting it, not that he is the worst in the world just nothing compared with Kate. Loved Ben too. He is fab. Fern is fully.
Now another thing I can complain about is the stylists. What was the boy band wearing? That silver outfit was AWFUL. (not to mention the black outfit on the girl from the other band who had two strips covering her front)
Was postively surprised by the dracula looking guy. don't like his arrogance much but adds some personality to the mix!
Posted by: miss s | October 21, 2007 at 09:27 PM
I have been watching music 'reality' shows for as long as I can remember, but this year's bunch are the worst I have ever encountered. I don't know what went wrong, but something is definitely not right with the whole setting. From the judges to the presenters to the acts themselves, it was just excruciatingly bad!
Whatever the reasons they gave in kicking Kate and Ben out, I think its just backfired because Dermort or whatever his name is is not doing a good job at all. The stage didnt have the wow effect we have gotten used to over the years, the judge's bickering has now gotten so annoying I dont even bother to listen to them anymore.
And the so called top 12, what a load of bull..So many overhyped wannabees its going to take a miracle to find any worthy star in that group.
Nicky was the only outstanding voice, but like I've read somewhere, she already had a professional pop career in the late eighties as a 16 year old that didnt go anywhere. The rest, pathetic. How Emily got through based on one good audition still beats me. The girl dropped more bad notes that Hiroshima.
And the group 'Hope', that's got doomsday written all over them. I dont know what the audience was hearing but at home it sounded like some amateur karaoke night with a lot of drunken people screaming their lungs out for their favourites.
This is supposed to produce a star, this is supposed to be the very best 12 they could unearth, but it simply sound like a glorified 'Stars in their eyes' to me. It should be about the music, about the voice. But when the whole collective is as mediocre as what we have here, its just like watching a bad episode of Fame Academy.
Posted by: femi lovechild | October 22, 2007 at 10:22 AM
Lets face it you know who is going to be in the final it was known by the judges at the start of the show before the auditions even started they add under 16s then they throw out all the good under 16 talent then shock the ones that where told they where not good enough are told they can make a girl/boy band and again shock totally at random
yeh right ha ha simon gets the bands this year so becouse they decide who we see the most of and they choose the songs and the footage that is shown also chosen by them leans the audiance and the viewing public in the direction they want i would say way everything up that by total surprise mmmm simons catagory will win didnt see that one coming ha ha ha ha
Posted by: tom shipley | October 22, 2007 at 10:45 AM
I was in the audience Saturday and Sharon was fuming. She stormed off, and the producer brought her back on, she didnt talk to any of the judges. While both acts were singing to stay in, Simon was talking to the producer which I didnt think was fair. Sharon said that it was rigged and wasnt going back. Was an amazing show though.
Posted by: Anthony | October 22, 2007 at 04:53 PM
I think Sharon just got fed up with being pushed out and that she had also made some wrong decisions. The stories in the paper about her behaviour to that Rhydion (or however you spell it), are ridiculous. He is a grown boy and his parents should let him fight his own battles. Being criticised is part of the industry he is trying to get into, and often it is very unfair. If Sharon leaves the show I will not watch it again. They should have left it at three judges and also kept Ben Shepherd and Kate Thornton. The show is now awful.

I WOULD LIKE IT TO BE BROADCAST ON NEXT SATURDAYS SHOW WHICH OF THE 2 CONTESTANTS HAD THE LEAST PUBLIC VOTES -
THIS WOULD SHOW IF SHARRON OR ANY OF THE OTHER PANEL WANT TO "JUMP-SHIP" AND NOT CAST THEIR VOTE IT COULD BE DOING THE CONTESTANT A DIS-SERVICE BECAUSE IF SHARRON HAD MADE IT ALL EVEN THEN THE PUBLIC VOTE WOULD HAVE DESIDED WHO WENT HOME AND IT MAY HAVE BEEN THE BLACK GIRL RATHER THAN THE BLONDE ONE -
IT WAS ALL A PUBLISITY STUNT IF YOU ASK ME AS IT HAS MADE IT TOP NEWS - WILL SHAZ BE BACK? I WILL PUT MY MORTGAGE ON IT THAT SHE WILL AND I BET WE WILL NEVER KNOW WHO RECIEVED WHAT AMONT OF VOTES - IT COULD BE MADE AVAILABLE AT THE END OF THE COMPETITION OR WHEN THE INDIVIDUALS ARE INVOLVED IN A PUBLICK VOTE EG IF THE BLACK GIRL GOES OUT NEXT WEEK THE SHOW COULD SHOW HERS AND THE BLOND GIRLS ANOUNT OF VOTES FOR THE FIRST SHOW TILL THE SHOW ENDS.

I think we should definitely have a group this year they alteast might stay the distance when its all over, Niki, Beverley, Rhidian etc will be a one hit wonder we need a good British group HOPE are fantastic and with a well written song could make it really big. Just look at Girls Aloud they were a manufactured band and are great. VOTE FOR HOPE !!

I feel so sad hearing the news about Emily's quiting the X Factor Show... who ever realease those video's of emily, I hope they are happy as they break a girls dream.. I guess there are reason's why those video captured in mobile phone.. However We should not Blame Emily on those incident... as the MOST kid's nowadays not only in UK are expose in bullying... I guest Its not Emily's Fault.. and beside we should not condem her for this scenario.. As long as she knows what she did before even though its intentionally or unintentionaly we should give her a chance to live here dream and to fulfill her ambition... For me Emily still the best singer for her category I love her voice as a balladere and Let give her a CHANCE to live her dream not break one life... specially SHE's just a Girl....
For emily I know you are a good girl... Live your DREAM... and hope you can still stand up after this.. as you have a GOOD VOICE...

Am I on another Planet. How is Rhydian current in any way shape or form. Maybe in a musical (South Pacific maybe) or a Welsh Male Choir. I think his voice makes every song sound the same. He even managed to turn YMCA into a nearly Opera. Sorry but Alisha is current, good distinctive voice, the type to make a current Pop Star. It makes me wonder what is going on with the Great British Public? I can't believe that the majority of people think he should still be in the competition. Who is going to buy is record? What type of records is he going to record, please ask Simon Cowell how he can think Nicky is not current and Rhydian is? By the way is there any chance that we can here how many people voted in total as they do in American Idol. For all we know it could be the same 30 people everyweek. Unfortunately I am living abroad and have tried to vote but can't.

Last night was ridiculous!! When are good singers going to stop getting the boot over some Steps-Wannabe's!! Same Difference are really getting annoying. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Hope etc shouldn't have gone eventually, but Same Difference should have gone first!
Posted by: Heidi | December 02, 2007 at 10:36 AM
At last HOPELESS got the boot...the competition still needs to eliminate SAME DIFFERENCE (...who could have a future on BLUE PETER or something on the CBBC channel but definitely NOT the X-FACTOR), reintroduce Beverley, before it starts to reflect rival singing talent.
Posted by: Carole Howard | December 02, 2007 at 06:28 PM
I think Hope deserved to go this week (2/11/07) their 1st song was a pop at Louis as Simon knows Louis dilikes Spice Girls, also they sounded terrible, their 2nd song much much better, but i agree with Louis, it should of been Beverley stood on the stage not them she was far superior than Hope, i love Niki but Rhydian as a fantastic voice and almost certain to win. Leon on Niki just plod on a give it your best.

I think louie killed it for nikki she should not have been voted off its his unproffessional comments about the other contestants that got nikki these votes I think the votes were not counted right I think they should have a recount I also think that louie should think of something differant to say he's getting boreing
Posted by: lily dorritt | December 08, 2007 at 10:37 PM
how did same diffrence win over nikki they are a joke and should be at butlins i think its a fix
Posted by: wendy | December 09, 2007 at 04:03 AM
watched last nights show and was stunned that nikki went out same difference only got through with sympathy vote what is the general public thinking about voting them to stay in i have watched every show this series and there have been better acts booted off think its crazy or fixed

trying to vote for NIKI last evening we wish to know WHY WE WERE UNABLE TO GET OUR VOTE REGISTERED IN USING OUR LAND LINE, ???????
Every time we dialed the number the line was unabtainable we were therefore forced to register our votes in the end using our MOBILES this we feel is an unfair way for yourselves and BT to make money out of the veiwing public remembering ofcourse without us you would not have a program to transmit to viewers,!!!!!!
We shall be speaking to our local radio station to ask there views and comments on this consumer issue.

There is no hope left for this country, its people and its music industry, knowing that true class singers like Ben Mills last year and Niki this year lost out to second-rate and somewhat ridiculous swing wannabees like Ray Quinn and Leon, and children's party cry-babies like Same Difference (just put them in a musical). Is it a contest in childhood deprivation, doting families and sob stories? If anyone mentions a passed-away parent or bullying again I'll scream, its totally irrelevant. And it is totally unfair and ineffectual that the judges, instead of being impartial, support specific acts for the sake of their own egos, thereby scewing the results. The mentors and judges should be separate. Lets face it, if Simon Cowell wasn't mentoring Same Difference he'd be slating them like last year's MacDonalds, I don't believe he really likes them. Louis Walsh is unbelievably childish. Only Dannii seems to give a considered opinion of what she's actually hearing. For Sharon its more about personal feelings and bonds with the acts. This year's contest is much weaker than last year's overall (last year every time Ben or Leona sang I was speechless and had goosepimples, only Niki has had that effect on me this year), and I'm astounded that the last show saw off the only remaining contestant apart from Rhydian who can really sing: Niki.

no.one in xfactor history has ever made an impact like rhydian.
he has the voice, talent, charisma, he has the X FACTOR! i am heart broken he didnt win, rhydian will be a massive satr after the show & deserves all the success in the world!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This was the most shocking result I have ever seen. Rhydian was totally robbed.
No-one could get through Disgusting.
The X-Factor embarrassed itself tonight. Rhydian is blatantly the superior talent & should have win.
Posted by: rocketqueen | December 16, 2007 at 06:26 AM
rydian was execeptional and sounded brill but leons verson of the new single was much better and sounded more to date with music thats around now. His voice suited the song much better.......i hope u do well leon.

Poor Rhydian was robbed, he is a superb performer, great talent and showed Leon up.
Bring out a Rhydian Christmas song and I will buy it.

X Factor was a very good show last night but it's a shame that the member's of the public do not get to see the votes that have been casted to each of the contestants that are in the final many of the other T.V Shows give the viewer's and public view of what votes have been given I think that it would be much better if the X Factor considered this as then the viewer's can see what votes have been given to each of the conontestants.
And for Same Differents should be considered a recording contract they where brillant please give them a chance to record something.
Yours Sincerely

Same Difference was robbed of their second place by Leon. He was not even in tune and the duo with Kyle was not even in tune. I am a kylie fan so I know the song by heart and it was not in tune even while kylie was singing it... I think people were voting it on kylie myself as she is well known as a singer and because of her part in Dr Who...
I for one along with my family want to see more of Same Difference in the future and I hope to see them in the charts somesday soon as I would buy their records... My kids and wife love them and my kids were crying when Leon robbed them of their place in the final two.

Congratulations Leon you deserved to win, just keep your feet on the ground and listen to your mammy and granny they only want the best for you. Stay away from the drink and drug scene and above all stay the nice lad that you obviously are. Make the most of the opportunity and be happy.Kate

Ridiculous farce last night ruined my Christmas. Leon will be a has been by next Christmas but Rhydian will be on the celebrity 'A' list where he deserves to be. People reject excellence these days in favour of mediocrity? Why Why?
Posted by: yvonne R. | December 16, 2007 at 12:42 PM
Oh please! Kylie made herself look ridiculous carrying that Leon guy..it's time she realised she is not 18 anymore and she needs a more dignified act.
Posted by: yvonne R. | December 16, 2007 at 12:52 PM
Leon will be around for a long time as he is on the same lines as the other great balladeers. Rhydian will make his break in musical theatre where he belongs as he is a showman shown by his wearing the most outlandish clothing.
Iwould go further and say Nikie would have been a deserving finalist instead of Same Diff, they are childrens entertainers or holiday camps or cruise ships. Did you think Michael Bubbely was kidding when he asked Leon to sing with him, I dont think so
Posted by: Kate Taylor | December 16, 2007 at 01:30 PM
The X factor is a complete farce..They should consider doing the show for 16-20 year old no hopers then it will not matter who wins!!
Rhydian did not stand a chance of winning as his style of singing is not for all the kids who buy the chart songs. Rhydian is in a league of his own and will put bums on seats at all theatres around the world for years to come. The one thing we need to thank the X Factor for is bringing this outstanding talent to the attention of everyone who knows what a good singer & performer Rhydian is.
Good luck & please hurry with your first cd I cannot wait! xxx

I am writing in behalf of myself and my friends. X factor as far as we are concerned should be called the Z factor. What an absolute farce. My friends and I tried to call on numerous occassions to vote for the exceptional talent of Rhydian Roberts but could not get through. How could it be that a person who cannot even hold a microphone, or looks absolutely wooden with no stage presence has won the X factor. Totally beyond belief! Putting Leon as the winner of the X factor is putting his career in jeopardy of him lasting for only six months whereas we all know that Rhydian career will last for years to come.
