JEFF’S A JINX FOR HEARTS

Scorers: KILMARNOCK: Murray, Di Giacomo

By Colin Brown

JIM JEFFERIES must wish he could play Hearts every week.

In a desperately disappointing season for the Kilmarnock gaffer, the Jambos are the only Premier League side who have failed to beat his injury-ravaged team.

Jefferies secured a first away win since last September against his old club and he is hoping that has set the tone for next season.

Scorers: FALKIRK: Scobbie, Finnigan HEARTS: Cesnauskis

HEARTS caretaker boss Stevie Frail admitted Falkirk “wanted” the win more than the Gorgie side as they slipped to their first defeat in eight matches.

Goals from Tam Scobbie and Carl Finnigan either side of the break ensured Frail’s outfit missed out on the opportunity to seal seventh spot.

And, although substituted Deividas Cesnauskis pulled a goal back late on, the Tynecastle head coach confessed his team had allowed their standards to slip after back-to-back wins.

JAMBOS kid Gary Glen grabbed his second winner in two games with a brilliant finish.

Inverness had kept a tight grip on the classy youngster, but like all good goalscorers, he took his chance when it came.

Ruben Palazuelos played the ball through, but Glen, above, was just so cool as he clipped the ball over the diving Michael Fraser.

And he stole the headlines from substitute Scott Robinson, who became the youngest ever Hearts player, at just over 16 years old.

By Ewing Grahame

HEARTS starlet Gary Glen made a stunning scoring debut to lift the gloom surrounding Tynecastle — and then revealed he turned down Sir Alex Ferguson and mighty Manchester United to sign for the Jambos.

The 17-year-old striker, below, played up front alongside Christian Nade and walked away with the man of the match award.

But he could just as easily have been cooling his heels in the reserves at Old Trafford.
