The first meaningful result - Pennsylvania - and it is good news for Obama. The Democrats are going to hold the seat.

If McCain had snatched this, a shock could have been on the cards. But the polls were right. The experts are now talking of Obama smashing the 50% barrier - possibly winning as much as 53% of the popular vote. That would be some mandate.

Look out for Virginia or Ohio. If Obama wins one of those, it is good night McCain.....
