UN Job for Brown.....Sarah Brown

CAMPAIGNING Sarah Brown has been offered the chance to fight for women’s rights as a United Nations ambassador.

UN chiefs in New York want the PM’s wife to lead programmes to stop millions of women in poor countries dying during pregnancy.

Mrs Brown, below, who is a patron of Wellbeing of Women, has impressed UN bosses with her passionate campaigning.

This September, she guest-edited our Fabulous magazine, which enabled her to highlight women’s health issues.

Though tempted, Mrs Brown is understood to be reluctant to spend too much time away from sons Fraser, three, and John, six.

One friend said: “Sarah wants to help the causes she believes in.

“She is fully signed up to the sort of programmes the UN is looking at, but she won’t want to be a full-time ambassador.”
