Debate LIVE: Spin begins |
In the first 45 minutes of the leaders' debates, the spin doctors for Labour and the Tories have sent out 15 e mails with line by line "corrections" (the number will have at least doubled by the time you read this).
Instant stats on falling police numbers from the Tories correct Gordon Brown's assertion that "we have to maintain the number of police we have in this country", claiming 13 police forces have cut their numbers.
Meanwhile, the Labour Party are lining up trade union leaders, academics and quango leader to rebut claims by David Cameron.
But the best rebuttal goes to Henry Macrory from the Tories: Nick Clegg claimed the Lib Dems have identified £15 billion of savings from public spending, but their own manifesto only identifies £10.7 billion.
It took him about 90 seconds to come out with that little gem.
